The Manhattan Friendship Garden was a vision of about 12 people who had a heart to provide fresh vegetable to the patrons of Will County's Food Pantries, Soup Kitchens and Group Homes. This vision became a reality when the Manhattan Friendship Garden was formed as a non profit group in 2011.
As a result, the group plants and harvest (in mass quantities) vegetables every spring, summer and fall to distribute to these recipients.
If you'd like to get your hands dirty, literally, and feed the hungery in our area, this is an excellent MC to get connected with. Contact Dale Bormet for more information about specific opportunities to help.
